That's a long way down for the littlest kindergartner as she disembarks to head for her class.

And a few hours later, they're home!

Home safe and sound!

Well, we made it. Looks like Meg loved school and it looks like Mrs. Duncan will even return tomorrow. I believe I only signed up for one volunteer duty but can't remember for sure with all the excitment of the moment. Hope it was only baking cookies and not PTA chairman or anything. Jill took me out for a pedicure and lunch and got me some wonderful treats...a new makeup package I can hardly wait to try. I hope the rest of the year goes as well for all of us as this first day proved to be.

Tomorrow: Nick starts Middle School. He has to get up awfully early to catch his bus. This is a boy who appreciates his sleep. I'm happy for him that he will have lots of sports activities and his world has just grown substantially. Our family is really excited for our kids in this next chapter of their lives and hope they enjoy their experiences and take advantage of every opportunity to prepare themselves for wonderful futures. And of course, keep the rest of us from having to visit the principal's office very often.
