Almost missed the bus today

Okay, today I was totally responsible...no sleepin' in for this gal! I jumped out of bed and into the shower and got all that paint booth stuff done early. No loungin' around in my bathrobe and slippers, reading email fwds. I am going to go do some chores and enjoy the 'no rain' weather!

So I got Meg off to school and her sister fed and ready for the day, piled into the car and headed out for doing chores. We arrived at the first store...not open yet. So much for being early and responsible! So I decided to go to the second store and then come back to that one. Oops, the second one was closed for the week for remodeling.

Of course, it happened to be next to a bakery that WAS open, so you know what happened there. After the giant iced cinnamon bun, I decided to bag going to the first place (that'll show 'em), and go walk around Home Depot, in case there was something I just had to have. Well, for all the stuff I wanted there, there had to be money to fund it and somebody who could install it. So, bag that idea, too.

Miranda said she was bored with Home Depot, so we headed for the car and I saw what I thought was a low tire. No problemo...I just popped into the tire shop. After waiting a few minutes, (unusual there) some dude in a stocking cap and baggy pants came out and asked me what I wanted. Hmmm...rude and no embroidered emblem on his shirt. I asked if he'd check my tire. He acted like he was really put out, but grabbed a measuring thingy and did it...he said it was fine, 36# even. I swear that tire looked low, though...well, whatever. I'm pretty sure that guy was an imposter and didn't work there at all; my tire is surely down to 13# and has a railroad spike in it or something.

And that's how we almost missed Miranda's bus by doing absolutely nothing at all!
