Mall remodel

Today Miranda and I popped down to Southcenter while my mom was at an appointment. It's the first time I've been to the actual mall in years, largely because it had become scary and most-likely dangerous. But they underwent a huge remodeling process and I was curious what they did. So today I drove in and parked right by the skywalk into the new Borders.

I was stunned...the new Borders is fabulous. I controlled myself but could have spent tons! Then we went out into the mall...omg, there are three levels now! And so many new stores! Ones I've never heard of. A wonderful toy store got some Gramma bucks. Miranda had braids and was so precious I could barely keep my lips off her face...I'm just thankful she didn't ask for a Mercedes.

There were many places for lunch...lots of Asian choices. And the bathrooms...there was a large family bathroom with kid-size potties alongside regular ones in private rooms, and everything a family with kids could need, including a lounge with toys and a large-screen TV on the wall and a microwave.

And I was only there for about an hour...barely scratched the surface! I sure was surprised. Anyway, I just MUST go back and do a tour of the place, so that's the plan very soon. I will have to take three kids and wear my best walking Ecco's, but I'm gonna do it!

We've been wanting to go down and see it... We've just been waiting for the crowds to die down a bit! Is it still crazy busy?

We've gone their twice to see a movie once with girlfirends and thier daughters and the other time I just took the kids to see clone wars. Ye its overwelming what they have done down their. My favorit parking spot going up to to the top of the parking garage next to JC Pennys and then it has a ramp that takes you to the roof of the Mall. You can park right we'er the entrance to the theaters are and it's never crowded. It litterally parkes you in the middle of the mall I love it!

The two times I have been there it's been fairly empty, the new space is so big I think they will need to quadruple attendance to get near the density you are used to at this mall.

and since they got this depression on and all, I expect many shoppers are a bit short on mall money.
