The Goonies wasn't on On Demand, so we went upstairs to hunt through my DVD's to find a substitute. Nahhh...nothing filled the bill. So I said, "Let's go to the attic and look through my old VHS tapes. I've never heard of "The Goonies", but we'll see if there's something else." It was a long shot at best...they've been in there for 14 years, through the heat of a summer attic and the cold of a winter one. Chances are a tape wouldn't be viewable.
We were finding several good prospects when Nick asked, "Do you have 'Back to the Future'?" I said, "I don't know...let's keep looking." Two seconds later, there it was! We were happy and grabbed the whole stack of possibiles to go downstairs. But as I was trying to stand up (that's an old person joke), I noticed: My original wedding band! The band that fit in with my original set. The diamond ring part was lost or stolen 30 years ago. I hadn't seen the band in so long, I forgot about ever finding it. Am sure it's been for at least the length of time we've been in this house...14 years! It must have fallen off my finger in the boxes of tapes!
But, if that wasn't amazing enough, lo and behold, when we got the tape player working, we hit "play" so we could watch "Back to the Future", the movie came on. Only it wasn't "Back to the Future"........................
