Erwilian

So tonight was the Erwilian concert. Mom couldn't go with me so I asked a girlfriend, but she had to work, so I decided I'd just step out of my comfort zone and go by myself. Well, I got some of the bravado scared out of me tonight...it doesn’t take much.

I went to that concert and parked on a side street a block away. (Went early enough to find a decent, safe after-dark spot to park.) Anyway, that was fine. When the concert was over, there were several concert goers walking the same direction I was, so I felt fairly okay. So I get in my car and start driving home.

After about 4 blocks, I am in a downtown residential area and my dang warning light comes on! Low Tire Pressure! Well, I am absolutely paranoid about my tires cause I’ve had two very inconvenient flat tires in the past 5 years, but this time it was AT NIGHT, in a not-so great residential neighborhood.

I quickly go over my options...I could call the wife of one of the band members...she was still at the theater, packing instruments. I could call Jill to come get me...it was only 9:45 pm...she’d still be up...but that would take her 30 min. to get me and then I'd have to abandon my car. I could call AAA and wait an hour in fear for my life.

So I kept driving till I got to a well-lit parking lot and pulled over. Got out and looked at my tires...they seemed okay. So I decided to drive till I got to a safe gas station. I found one a mile or so up the road. Well-lit and fairly new, but there were scary people all over the place. Still, I turned the car off, got out and quickly scoped out my tires...two of them seemed a little low, but not undriveable. So I got back in and turned the engine back on...hmmm, no warning light. I made it home fine with no warning light at all. And parked in my garage, right beside the air compresser that I don't know how to run. Come to think of it, I park right in front of the generator that I don't know how to run, also. Fun, huh?

Seems like I might have some faulty wiring thing going on. Hope it's not a faulty computer. UGH! Three times now, my burgler alarm in the car has gone off when it wasn’t supposed to. Like when Mom and I went shopping and she opened her door to get out. Like twice when I unlocked the car and lifted the back gate to get my groceries out. Guess it’ll have to go to the shop next week for a checkup.

Anyway, there is nothing that knocks the sass right out of me like car trouble. Economy or no, I can’t stand having a less-than-perfectly-running vehicle. The stress alone will kill me.

Yikes!! I hope that it's a simple answer and that the concert was wonderful as always.
