World Tour

Oh, my...I forgot to mention Grandson got Guitar Hero World Tour (I think that's the name of it). It has a microphone for singing, drums for drumming, and the guitar for playing. So Chris and I wanted to "be a band" with him. He's only had it a few hours, but of course had it all figured out. Chris was the guitarist, Nick was the drummer, and they stuck the mike in my hand. Okay...I could handle that...Simon Cowell wasn't anywhere around.

But then what stinkin' song did the kid put up for us to play??? Some BEASTIE BOYS thing! He said it "HAD TO BE DONE" before we could go to anything else. Well, for starters, how am I supposed to sing something I've never heard before? I didn't know the tune. If you could call it a tune. No matter...they put the words on the screen...I can read. But then it started and, guess what...it wasn't singing...IT WAS RAP! I can't even READ that fast, must less talk!!!!!

Well, obviously Chris and I messed up the band attempt so bad, Nick isn't speaking to either of us for the rest of the week, I'm sure. He'll just have to do all three parts himself and get through that hideous thing (no offense, Beastie Boys) to some song we know. Like maybe "Happy Birthday" or something.

Sounds like an interesting way to spend family time. :) Hopefully there will be some better songs/bands next time.

Personally, I think they ought to offer us a "Guitar Hero, Praise Version". Now I could blow the doors off with that! :-)

I think it's awesome that you even attempted to do the Beastie Boys song. You rock!

And on a side note, if you did invent the Guitar Hero, Praise version I'm pretty sure you could sell a ton of those!

I can't wait for Nick, Megan and Miranda to be "the band".
