Raccoons & Stuff

Now I heard that our neighbor two doors down is feeding the raccoons. Grrr! That's probably why they seem more plentiful and less afraid of humans this year. We've seen them in the yard this summer while we were out there. And I can hear them fighting and crashing around the trees.

It's raining like crazy and we have swim parties scheduled for both days this weekend. Okay, God, it's Thursday...I'm beggin' here...needing some clearing to happen pretty quick now. Seems like July is getting to be better than August for reliability now.

The trial for the 30th was called off, and now I got a subpoena saying the bad guy that's going to court has requested Aug. 14th! I called them and said there was no way I was doing that on the 14th...in fact I wasn't available until the following week. They said it wouldn't happen until the 26th or so. Not only that, this is only one guy. The others have both skipped out and are on the loose now with warrants for their arrest. She said, "We'll get them. They will break more laws and get picked up. This type person doesn't care about any kind of law." Good grief, I feel sorry for cops that have to testify under these circumstances with court dates being postponed time after time.

I am glad you don't have to go to court on the 14th.

I think you should talk to your neighbor about NOT feeding the raccoons. I would be happy to go with you. It's a safety issue. Perhaps you could talk to the humane society or something.

I second what Chris said!

With the whole court testifying thing - the worst is when Ben wakes up in the middle of his night to go to court and he gets all the way into Seattle, only to be told it's postponed. I appreciate the overtime time he gets - but it's just another way these jerks are wasting the law abiding, tax paying, citizen's time and money!
