Ratz

I have a sad note. We were having a wonderful day...nice temperature out, half-sunny, not too hot. The girls and I took a little walk, then came home and were sitting on the back deck in the shade. We told stories about snakes and spiders (their choice). All of a sudden, I gasped...a doe pranced into our yard, right in front of our noses, and headed down to the lake without noticing us. I shushed the girls and ran to get my camera. Got a great little movie clip of her hearing me, turning, and walking back towards me, then back where she came from.

It was so nice, we went down to the dock. I got some nice shots of Megan fishing (she's become really skilled at casting), but I had to tell her she'd better not catch anything because I don't know how to take them off the hook. Miranda hunted rocks and I got some terrific shots of her squatting beside the water. We had a picnic there on the dock.

Then the afternoon started to deteriorate fast. First Megan's line got tangled and we had to snap the line. The reel wouldn't work on the kids' pole. Gramma tried for an hour to tie a hook and sinker on, but I don't have a clue what I'm doing. You wouldn't believe the mess I made. Any self-respecting trout would have laughed himself out of the water. I got so frustrated and sad...I miss their papa so much...he should be here doing this, not useless me. Megan caught me crying but I distracted her when we saw a blue heron.

Then the girls started to argue so we came inside for a rest and I went to putting my deer movie and great shots onto the computer and somehow wiped out the whole chip instead. Nothing is left. I'm just incompetent and depressed and hate not having their Papa. We always said it took two of us to make up one whole person...guess that was right on the money.

Please don't ever forget how much you are loved by all. If you ever need anything we are just a phone call away. Most of all remember that you are Carol Marol and you can do anything!
