Camp BBQ

Tonight was the camp barbecue and the kids did a recital. OMG, Papa would have been so proud. They recited their Bible verses and then sang some praise songs. Megan discovered she was in the same group as a casual friend and they have bonded closer. They were thrilled to get to be together.

Miranda and I met their parents for the barbecue. Then the campers gathered to perform. I'll never understand how they can teach so much to kids in such a short amount of time. Especially memory verses...ahem. Talk about feeling ancient...

We all had traditional picnic food then went to check out the sleepover tent. It was a huge circus tent, divided in the middle by a solid canvas wall...boys on one side, girls on the other side. Two counselors would be sleeping outside the tent doors, guarding against escapees.

When I drove away, I saw campfires going in the main gathering areas. Do you think after their campfire, songs, smores and scary stories, that anyone will get much sleep in this environment? Doesn't this look like the best week of a kid's life?
