So I had the usual Friday night sleepover with the littlest granddaughters. That little one is getting as attached to grammy as the oldest one. She's so adorable, I can just hardly stand it! Loveable she is, but she still has a mind (and personality) all her own.
First thing in the morning, we could tell it was going to be a scorcher, and sure enough, Meg and the neighbor girl were in the lake before we could say, "Remember, the water is still cold!"
After they left, I went to Emily's baseball game. OMG, those girls are GOOD! I was thoroughly impressed! Wish I could have seen the entire game, cause I heard Emily got a terrific hit that I would have loved to have seen. I learned her dad is assistant coach...he's such a great father. Oliver the new puppy was there and ALMOST had me convinced it's time to get mine...but not quite...
After that, I ran down to Nick's baseball game. That was lots of fun. His dad is coach, too. Got to see Christina. Chris had to run to the store for more water for the concessions stand, so Christina and I tried to sneak a ball park hot dog before she got back, but alas...we were caught still smelling of mustard and got the old vegetarian "evil eye". Ha!
Everybody was really hot and tired, so Chris & family came here for a dip in the lake afterwards. It was sad...first time swimming w/o Papa there to rib us and egg Nick onto doing cannon balls off the board, etc. Chris and I used up a box of Kleenex.
Nick, on the other hand, doesn't believe in wasting Kleenex...ahem...don't ask...just don't ask!

I loved seeing you today! I just noticed a familiar pink umbrella in the picture for yesterday's post. :o)
I wish Ben wasn't on nights, we'd have been over there too - though you would have had to share that Kleenex box... I miss him lots too.
Yay for a cooler, yet still nice, day tomorrow!! Ben was starting to have flashbacks of the desert in this heat.
Love you. Mom and Dad
