Things are hoppin' around here now. I'm going for it...the downstairs remodel. This has evolved from getting one room painted to doing the whole downstairs. She wants to do the upstairs, too, but I think it's time for her to take a break from this job. One thing has led to another, the way they often do. Who wants to put up the cheap, crumby old light fixtures when the rest of the room looks so nice? Then the light fixture needs those cool medallion things on the ceiling. I have waited 13 years with this awful tile...now's a perfect time to get new countertops. Well, if you get new counters, you can't keep that cruddy old sink. And of course, the faucet never was any good.

So this week, I've had estimates from granite companies, from decorators, from the window treatment people, and if you think these ratty old carpets look really hideous with the new paint, you're totally right. So there was a flooring guy here this morning. And of course, the powder room will never do in it's current condition, with the whole downstairs being renewed.

Meanwhile, life goes on...hair appointments, eye appointments, dentist appointments, doctor appointments, birthday gifts to get, groceries, plants for summer...it never stops. But I'll tell ya, this is really fun and is going to be so nice. I'll put up some photos of the process and also my new glasses that had to be picked up this week. I'm going to be the most fashionable bag lady on the street corner!
