ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST! No, there is nothing wrong with my wiring...the old fashioned bulbs are still going strong.
Grandchildren Spoiled Here: They will be called "Precious", will get to eat junk, ice cream, and candy, and get to do almost anything they want. So what are you going to do? Object and pay a babysitter $10 an hour, or just get over it and let me spoil them?

maybe they know how much you hate them.
I think the bulbs are jealous of your green vehicle and just can't live being second fiddle.
(or what chris said)
I know that the first batches I bought of these sorts of lights did have issues burning out too soon. Since they were so pricey, I was ticked off about it.
However, I have continued to buy them and really haven't had any life-length issues with the new ones (which are also way cheaper now).
Seems in my experience, they began "getting better" about a year or so ago.
You are all welcome to them. I am staying with the reliable ones until even the freedom to choose my own lightbulbs is taken away. Just look at what's happened to me! These are recent purchases that simply stink.
I have a possible solution to a) saving energy while b) having reliable lightbulbs...
A bunch of our Christmas lights this year were LED, they were brighter and used 80% less electricity than even the traditional small bulbs
In looking for household type LED lights, I came across this site:

The household LED bulbs for instance, for a light comparable to a 35 watt incadescent, you use just 5.6 watts of power. that's a huge savings.
And LEDs DO last just about forever.
