The Dock

This was our dock, completely under water, at 10:00 a.m. this morning. The plants at the bottom of the light pole are usually on dry ground. That is the beach line.

I don't know if you can tell the difference, but this is at 3:00 pm this afternoon. The dock is less visible now and the water is behind my Wisconsin swing, so water has risen that much in five hours. And it hasn't rained today.

When I first saw it this morning, I thought, "You could walk out on the dock and it would look like you were walking on water." Later, when Miranda noticed it, she gasped and looked at it for a minute and then said, "Gramma, you can walk on water out there!" Now, I think that is pretty amazing for a 5 year old.

Oh my goodness! That is definitely some impressive flooding. Hopefully it doesn't damage your dock or erode the soil around the lake too badly.

Can't we just be done with this crumby winter stuff already?!?!!
