Okay, okay, I'll post something

I go a couple days without posting and people start emailing me, asking if I'm sick. Actually, I've been feeling poorly and nothing much has been happening worth writing about, so that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it.

Yesterday I went to a ladies' meeting at church, knowing it was a "solicit volunteers" meeting, but I went anyway. I had the committee all picked out on which I wanted to serve. So when that topic came up, I was quick to raise my hand, hoping to get my name in there before all the spaces were taken up. What that did, however, was let them assume I wanted to be chairman of the committee. ARGH! I'm not very skilled at this socializing game. So I went to the other gals and told them I don't do chairman stuff. They said we don't, either, and your hand went up first. Hmmmmm. Live and learn.

Seriously, this is a good blessing for me because it gives me a chance to become closer friends with a lady I've just met and believe we were meant to be thrown together, if for no other reason than I liked her right off the bat. She is the mom of a friend of Megan's from Awana and we might be wanting to get the girls together this summer. I'm looking forward to knowing her.

Another thing that happened is that my muralist friend and I have been talking about painting a few rooms in my house. You know me...it's taken years to get this far. So I started out looking at off-whites, creams, and beiges. She was so sweet; she patiently let me choose the blah little beiges and said she'd bring samples the next day. Well, I played around with the other sample chips she left and decided I needed to be more brave and actually step out of my comfort zone here, cause this might be my last chance to get this done. So I picked a pale gold. There. Wild and Crazy Gramma!!!

Yay for color!
I was totally the same way... Laurece has a way of making you feel safe about stepping out of that comfort zone! I can't wait to see it!
I'm excited for you with this new group - you'll be fabulous!
