Boring winter days

Well, the first day for the kids back at school was a real winner...we awoke to snow so it was a two hour late start. Today it's just pouring rain and blowing like crazy. We didn't lose power during the heavy snows, but it wouldn't surprise me if we do tonight. When one lives in a forest, falling limbs take out power lines. So I dragged out all the lanterns and flashlights again.

I'm still reading that American History book to Megan and she loves it. We are up to Thomas Jefferson and Lewis & Clark. Once on a road trip, Warren and I stopped at a monument where Clark carved his name on the side of a cliff. It was a beautiful view and gave us a good workout climbing all the steps to reach it. That Clark guy must have been in great shape to get up there without stairs.

I've had to reinforce a few of the stories because this is a very PC book. It wasn't thorough enough about George Washington, in my opinion, but we sure know all there is to know about Sacajawea now.
