Sandie took me out for a late-afternoon dinner for my birthday. She's been such a good friend, for 43 years! We aren't clones, but we know each other inside out. That's what several decades does for ya. We can go many busy months without talking and then get together and gab for hours as if no time had passed.

American Idol, Miriah Carey night. All were good except I think it's time for Brooke and Sayesha to go. I wasn't thrilled with Jason. The Davids are always good...my favorite tonight was again David Cook and, surprisingly, Kristi Lee Cook tonight. She made me cry, but then the song she sang was "Forever". That was kinda personal for me.

Last week, I wrote them a letter, complaining about Ryan Seacrest. I vote HIM off!
