Gymnastics

The girls were wanting to go back to gymnastics so I went to enroll them. The studio offered the first session for free to see if the kids would like it and want to continue. Yesterday after school was their freebie. Well, they loved it. Miranda was iffy at first, but I think she ended up liking it even more than her sister did. They get to learn trampolines! At one point they had Miranda up on a balance beam 3' off the floor. That drew me right out of my seat in the balcony, but she managed it okay and my heart stopped pounding later that night.

Things are going along okay here. I just can't get in the mood to do the final finish on the remodel. There are still some dishes I haven't put back into the server and some pictures to hang back on the walls. Not to mention the couple of items I can't seem to find.

The new medications I'm taking are causing weight gain I really didn't need. Can't wait to get through this session. At least I've figured a way to manage them and almost remember to take them.

Oh, with the remodel, one of the first things I did was order custom-made shutters for the living room and dining room windows. That was May 16, 2009. Pre-paid because they were custom, of course. So here it is, Sept. 30th...they are still not here and the people are still giving me the run-around. Today I mentioned cancelling the order, getting my money back, with interest, as well as calling my attorney. "Good luck, Gramma", I've been told by my friends, sarcastically. At least I'm still able to find somebody on the other end of the phone line.

I've been calling weekly. When it had been 12 weeks, they first told me, "They are being shipped from China." Hmmm, spendy custom-made wood blinds...you'd think they would be made in America by craftsmen. Guess not. Then I went to the store to check on them...the store was empty. But at least there was a phone number. I called. They told me it would be 6 - 8 weeks...Guess not. Then they told me it would be another week. Guess not. Then they told me 12 days...Guess not. Now it's, "I'll have to research this and call you back." Guess I'll have to contact that attorney. Just so's you know, this is a small local store advertising Budget Blinds. Will keep you posted.
