I've been mucking out the office, sorting, boxing up, saving, crying, shredding, and toting, for many hours lately, in an effort to make a space for Megan to have a room of her own here. She's old enough to want and need some privacy, I figure. The editing needed to be done anyway, and this was a great reason to do so. My brother helped me simplify and clean up the computer, software, hardware and wiring situation. Thanks, Scott, you are my earthly hero once again! Meg's parents toted all the heavy things, including boxes of books that would give Rocky a hernia, and I am grateful I didn't have to drop the books over the stairway railing.
So today I hauled about 150 heavy, like-new hardback books to two different libraries. Turns out they don't put them on their shelves...they sell them and pocket the money for their favorite programs. Whatever. It feels good, and that's what life is all about in these times, isn't it? I even get a tax deduction...learned something new. I'll take it.
Gorgeous day here. The kids had to wear warm jackets this morning and were still cold, but it's supposed to be something like 88 degrees by the end of today and tomorrow. Go figure that one...it's September! Has been really great so far. I better get myself outside and pull up all my ragged annuals, however, before the monsoons of winter begin. We've been given a reprieve and I've learned my lesson about not taking advantage of it to get some outdoor work done!
