I left church, went to the grocery, drove home, was putting my refrigerated stuff away and remembered...the turkey I was supposed to bring home from church to cook next week was still sitting on the counter there...I had FORGOTTEN it! It's for a function we are doing and I'm one of the people who are cooking. So I quick jumped back in the car and headed down the hill, hoping someone was still there and it wasn't locked.
All of a sudden, a mile down the road, the usual rain turned into a storm, the wind picked up, and just in front of my car I saw the center rip out of a tree by the side of the road, and it was falling my way! I was too close to brake, so I gunned it. Nevertheless, that multiple-branched section of tree fell onto the roof of my car. I glanced up...the glass in the sunroof (or moonroof...whatever that thing is...) didn't break. Thank you, God.
I got to the church. It was locked and nobody was there. No problemo...I happen to know the secretary personally and where she lives. (She's my sister in-law.) So I drove to her house. They were just sitting down to lunch, so they fed me lunch and calmed me down...I was still shaking and upset from the stupid tree falling on me. My brother checked my car and, guess what...no damage. He couldn't even see any scratches in the paint! Then Teresa took me back to retrieve the forgotten turkey. Turned out I wasn't the only one to forget their item, so we put the other item in the fridge and took off.
This might have been one of those things Warren would have told me, "I wouldn't have admitted that if I were you."
