The Protest

There was a little protest situation here that we had to nip in the bud before it became a catastrophe. Last year at the beginning of school, our district went on strike. The surrounding area kids had to go to school but ours couldn't start until the strike was settled. They thought this was pretty cool. (I won't say what Gramma thought.)

But as most scientists know, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. Or something like that. I'm not a scientist. I'm just a gramma.

So this week is payback time. The surrounding districts all get the week off for spring break, but our kids only got two days and had to return today. My grandkids did NOT approve that. They were offended to the max. We found taped to the front door a few protest signs! I wonder if this is the forerunner of a life of activism for my granddaughter.

The signs read: "It's not our fault the teachers striked!!!" "Will not put up with this!" "We kids are putting our foots down!" "This is where it ends!" "No school, No school, No school...etc", "Pj shirt, PJ bottoms, Snoopy Slippers, Wear for 5 days straight!" "That's right, we deserve more days!!! These are the best days of our lives...Spend it reasonably!" "School = It's NOT FAIR!!! (20,000 kids think the same!!!)"

Anticipating a "perfect storm" in the morning, I enlisted help from their mother, who came to the rescue and squelched the issue. It went just fine. Thanks, Mom.

That is funny! We may need them to remain activist however with the way things are going. :)
