Birthday

First of all, the house interior painting is coming along beautifully. I compute or putter or stand and gab to her as she works her fingers to the bone. Pretty guilt-inducing, but I will just have to live with that. I am so blessed! It's amazing to see the difference happening and really fun as we brainstorm what to do next. Laurece is not a painter...she's an artist, and that's the fun part...kicking around all her ideas and even coming up with some of my own!

Jill got a new car. It's fabulous and I love it. It's a Volvo wagon in that Volvo blue; very pretty and so substantial. The only problem is it takes Premium gasoline. UGH!

Last night we got the family girls together (sans sick Chris...ratz...) at the Windmill Nursery. SUCH FUN! It was a fundraiser event; the nursery was a wonderful location: Waves of heavenly flowers everywhere, musicians, caterers, hosts in tuxedos escorting us down a red carpet, food and wine stations throughout, prizes galore, booths for looking, sampling, and shopping. And best of all, family reunion time.

Niece Becky won a door prize, a great Bistro table and chair set! (She also won a bag of potting soil! She was so funny. Throughout the evening she'd say, "I never win anything. You gals win flowers and wine and candles and I get a bag of dirt!" Ha!) So the Bistro set kinda made up for that. :-)

I won flowers and niece Melissa won a bottle of wine which she gave me for my birthday gift! There was a "phone booth" that blew "money" coupons around inside and you could go inside it and start grabbing (and stuffing...ahem...). Too funny!

Afterwards, Jill and I were hungry so we went searching for a restaurant where we could get a bowl of minestrone. It was only 9:30 pm. Do you think we could find a healthy restaurant that was actually open at that time? Grrrrr! So we texted our complaints to a friend, came home and ignored our noisy tummies.
